One of the most popular issues of the comic book "The Smurfs" is Les Schtroumpfs Noirs, which is translated as Black Smurfs. However, in the United States they changed the name of the comic book from Black Smurfs to Purple Smurf because did not want to be accused in discrimination. Black angry Smurfs are small black creatures, which have been bitten by an insect. As a result they become black and angry, shout "GNAP!!!" and try to bite any Smurf they see.
